FORT GROSS FRIEDRICHSBURG / PRINCES TOWN / POKESU
Originating from 1681, this is the only known German – built fort in Ghana. The fort was constructed from stones brought by sea from Prussia between 1681 – 1683. It is said that some 300,000 Africans were transported through this fort into the bitter fangs of slavery.
